Updates & New Information

Feb. 9, 2012

We've got a great group of attorneys who have already registered for the event this year, including several newcomers that have a lot to offer our lively discussions. We're roughly 20% ahead of registrations from this point last year, so please sign up soon if you're planning to attend. We never want to give anyone the bad news that we're full!

"New" confirmed speakers for 2012 already include senior attorneys from Walmart, Hewlett-Packard and Community Health Systems. We have a handful of others that we'll announce as soon as schedules are double-checked.

Also, you might have noticed that we've changed venues. Change is good. The Vanderbilt Marriott is a newer hotel in the midtown area -- still close to downtown for those (late) Wednesday evening activities -- that will be freshly renovated by the time of DS4.0. We'll have more space, too.  We're excited about the change of scenery. It also means we'll have party buses to get us to the Bluebird after the program on Wednesday! More on those activities soon, but it's safe to say you won't want to miss our entertainment that evening.

If you're reading this, you probably noticed that we've set the dates for DS4.0: May 9-10, 2012. We're still determing the meeting site; we're interested in a couple of other downtown Nashville locations. If you have any suggestions about how we can improve any aspects of the event, please don't hesitate to reach out to Chad Schmidt -- we always love getting your feedback and want to make the event as fun and productive as possible.

April 27, 2011

We held a conference call with Edward Efkeman (FedEx), Vinnie Miraglia (IP) and Barry Willms (COC) on the Social Media panel yesterday, and it's clear we have the right group on this session. Both FedEx and IP have been working on SM policies for some time and it will be great to get their insights. We're eager to kick the event off with this panel because so many people have expressed interest in the topic -- it should be a lively discussion.

We also spoke with Stacy Cozad and Meredith Dugan at Southwest Airlines about their breakout session on 'Bet the Company' litigation and how to approach it, especially if a department handles a lot internally or doesn't have an army of attorneys. Southwest is very representative of DS3.0 attendees and this is a can't miss breakout session if you have big matters coming up, are considering buying a collection and/or review platform, or wonder about utilizing different approaches with outside counsel, Counsel On Call, and/or internally.

Attorneys from more than 30 companies are already signed up and we're nearing capacity (register here) -- everything is shaping up very nicely.
